Michael Eade has been selected for inclusion in Timeless: The Art of Drawing, which ran from September 30th to December 21st, 2008.The exhibition embraced two concepts: 1) drawing emerges from an immediate and total relationship of the artist's hand with the drawing instrument/medium, thus embodying a spontaneity, risk, and courage unique to the act of drawing; and 2) drawing is a primitive force reenacted by successive generations. The exhibition centered on the ideas of the direct relationship between the artist and the medium which transfers a sense of spontaneity and risk to the act of drawing as well as the notion of drawing as a primitive means of artistic expression that continues to be practiced. The very act of drawing connects the artist to humanity's earliest, most mysterious consciousness.

For this exhibition, the museum defined drawings as work executed in pencil (graphite, colored pencil, etc.), pen & ink, crayon, charcoal, pastel and chalks, though during the curating process they were also open to interesting definitions of “drawing” that express the concepts described above.

The Morris Museum, a major New Jersey cultural institution, sought drawings by established and emerging artists who live and/or work in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware for an important regional exhibition. The original working title of the exhibition was TIMELESS: An Exhibition of Drawings.

The exhibition was organized by Ann Aptaker, the museum curator, and is accompanied by a catalogue.
