2008 First Edition Artist Fellowship at the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop, NYC...

Michael Eade was awarded by the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop a 2008 FIRST EDITION ARTIST FELLOWSHIP, New York, NY. This fully stipend fellowship allowed Michael Eade to begin creating prints in the RBPMW under the advisement and expertise of RBPMW master printmakers... (click here to view Eade's new prints)...

The jurors for the award were: John L. Moore - Artist; Roberta Waddell - Curator of Prints, New York Public Library; Craig Zammiello - Master Printmaker.

Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop (RBPMW) offers fellowships within their workspace to support artists in the fulfillment of their aesthetic and conceptual goals through the medium of printmaking. RBPMW Fellowships provide artists an opportunity for immersion in the medium of printmaking supported by a stipend, materials, and access to a fully equipped and staffed professional and cooperative printmaking workspace. The fellowship allows for progress through creative experimentation, realizing individual conceptual goals, and cultivating valuable connections in the New York fine art printmaking community.

TIMELESS: The Art of Drawing at the the MORRIS MUSEUM, exhibition dates: September 30th - December 21st, 2008

Michael Eade was selected for inclusion in Timeless: The Art of Drawing, an exhibition at the Morris Museum in Morristown, New Jersey, which ran from September 30th to December 21st, 2008. The exhibition centered on the ideas of the direct relationship between the artist and the medium which transfers a sense of spontaneity and risk to the act of drawing as well as the notion of drawing as a primitive means of artistic expression that continues to be practiced.

The exhibition was organized by Ann Aptaker, the museum curator, and is accompanied by a catalogue.
