STATEMENT - Prints and Drawings…
My prints and drawings follow the landscape themes I've developed in my paintings. I aim at achieving uniquely beautiful and emotionally evocative vistas by mixing together Eastern and Western landscape traditions. These highly detailed drawings and etchings are currently directly inspired by past landscape artists including Dürer, Cranach, Rubens and most specifically Claude Lorraine's plein aire ink drawings. As a tool for exploration into the landscape format my prints and drawings offer me a wonderful and endless array of options and exploration. Working simultaneously on them I hope a similar feeling of discovery builds for the viewer following my work.
